Monument for us braceros,
our $1 billion still missing

Because many of us cannot
view video yet, SunMt will
run 2+ pages of every
Chronicle — first one with
stills; the rest with video.
A beautiful granite monument
honoring us ex-braceros was un-
veiled in Fresno Courthouse Park
the other day. $1 billion in
our wages is still missing.
We braceros were Mexicans who
worked in U.S. under oppressive
contracts 1942-1964. 10% of our
wages was withheld to be paid us
when us returned home. It
never was. Court cases are
pending. Hear Bishop Steinbock
on the missing $$$. Hear cele-
bratory music. See previous
SunMt Chronicles on braceros
here and here. An Elfie photo
will be etched into the monument.
